1.1. Can the 5V voltage be stepped down through a diode to power the module?
This method is not recommended, because the voltage drop of the diode changes with the current, which may cause the module to work abnormally due to the unstable supply voltage of the module.
1.2. Can the module be powered by standard USB?
Meet the requirements of the peak current of the module. If customers must choose USB power supply, they can follow the steps below:
(1) Configure the module GPRS level to 8 through AT+QGPCLASS (this command needs to restart the module to take effect). When the GPRS level is configured as 8, there is only one uplink slot.
(2) Add 2 2200uF large capacitors with low ESR value close to the VBAT end of the module.
(3) It is recommended to adjust the VBAT voltage between 4.2V and 4.5V to increase the voltage drop margin.
(4) Test in a weak signal environment (such as CSQ value less than 14), if the module can be used normally, it means that the power supply is normal.
